Film of a Harold Pinter play first performed in 1960 at the Arts Theatre, London. A film about "shared illusion, tragic dispossession and a fraternal bond of unspoken love". The film centres around Aston, a quiet, reserved man, living alone in a cluttered top floor flat of a small abandoned house. He befriends and takes in an old derelict but Aston's brother harasses the man while Aston is away and eventually Aston on his return evicts the man.
